After staying with us for one night you will realise why all of our tents are named after owls and I am sure you will love listening to the evening chorus of owl calls as you sit around the campfire. Choose from The Tawny, The Bubo, The Screech, The Pygmy and The Boreal Belles. The ‘Owlet’ is our heated shower rooms with hot showers and flushing toilets. We also have a ‘Cheats Kitchen’ with an electric kettle, toaster, microwave and shared fridge freezer for those of you who need your coffee/tea before you light the stove in the morning.
Lotus Belle Tents let you experience being back to nature but without sacrificing your creature comforts. These amazing 5 meter tents have 18 square meters of standing space with 1.8 meters of headroom all the way to the edge, so yes, you can get dressed standing up! All the comforts of home but in a stunning location.
Fitted with king size beds, cosy bedding, throws and cushions, table and chairs, bunting and of course sparkly fairy lights, and with a private outside seating area with firepit/BBQ, woodburning stove, hammock & sun loungers A real home from home with a colourful theme for your glamping staycation in Cheddar Gorge, Somerset
Cheddar is obviously famous for its cheese, (check out Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company who make the only Cheddar still made in Cheddar), the sweetest strawberries, stunning walks and for the highest gorge in the country which is quite spectacular. The village and surrounding area are great for those seeking activity or for those looking for a more relaxed getaway, with climbing, caving, hiking or sightseeing and enjoying a cream tea just a few of the things to do in the immediate area.
Cheddar Village is just 15mins footpath walk from us (or 5 min drive) with its vast array of pubs, cafes, restaurants, takeaways, supermarkets and lots of quirky shops. With Wells, Glastonbury, Weston Super Mare, Burnham, Brean and Street all within 30 minutes’ drive, there are no shortage of places to visit if you can bear to drag yourself away!
We have lived at Owley for 5 years and we know how lucky we are to live in such a spectacular location but still be close to amazing pubs and restaurants. Friends and family constantly told us that Owley is the perfect location for a staycation, so after trialing a pop-up campsite in 2020 we finally opened Owley Woods Glampsite in 2021 and our guests loved it with many returning for 2nd and even 3rd stays already! Reviews have been amazing and we love meeting all our guests and their four legged friends! Set in 12 acres of land and surrounded by wildlife and great views we are sure you will grow to love Owley as much as we do.
