& Facilities
Just five beautiful Belle Tents in our meadow. Each sleeping 2 or 3 adults and up to 4 dogs (depending on size) All equally well equipped with everything you need for a relaxed stress free stay.
We even provide complimentary tea & coffee etc in ‘Cheats Kitchen’, and a Welcome Pack of local goodies to greet you on arrival.
Pack light! Just bring your personal items and maybe some walking boots & a torch. You can even order delicious local produce packs from our shop for your arrival date. Proper glamping!

Belles
Our Lotus Belle Tents really are top of the range tents made from heavy duty weatherproof canvas. With plenty of room to move around and stand up, it’s nothing like camping! They have cosy linings which helps to regulate the temperature and a roomy porch area which further extends the living area and is ideal for outdoor clothes, muddy boots etc. You won’t believe how spacious they are. Topped with a leafy green cover to protect the bats and wildlife from any light spill we think they look amazing.

There are drawers to store your clothes, chairs or a sofa to relax on and tables to enjoy your favourite outdoor cooked meal (or local take-away from the many different cuisines available), all finished with those extra luxury touches and of course bunting and fairy lights.
Screech, Boreal and Tawny belles all have a sofa that can become an extra bed with bedding provided for separate sleeping arrangements or for an extra person when notified in advance.
The tents are equipped with Crockery, Cutlery, pans etc along with a large cool box to keep your Prosecco cold on the warm evenings.

Our tents are off grid, so we provide a solar portable power pack with USB sockets for phone charging (just in case you want to stay in touch with the outside world!), and solar lights for those darker evenings.

All the Belles have a private seating area with comfy chairs, sun loungers, a hammock, table and wood fired stove to boil a kettle or cook breakfast on. Everyone loves a fire/BBQ, even when glamping so each tent has a fire pit which has a hanging grill to convert it to a BBQ.
There’s nothing quite like toasting marshmallows over the fire -delicious!
We also have a shared covered area (The Nest) with picnic tables.
‘Cheats Kitchen’ has an electric kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge freezer & grill. Perfect for your morning coffee (selection of complimentary tea & coffee provided) and for days the weather is not being kind and you just want to relax in your Belle. Cheats Kitchen also has sockets for anything that needs mains charging or if you can’t manage without a hairdryer!

There is a selection of indoor and outdoor games to cater for all weathers, including croquet, boules and quoits, scrabble & Uno.
Our small Honesty shop stocks local produce including our own Honey and spare logs Charcoal, kindling etc.

Owley
Wildlife
Owley enjoys visits from many types of wildlife. Watch the rabbits & squirrels play, listen to the chorus of birds singing & pheasants calling and if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of the deer in the woods. At night the badgers and foxes can often be seen and we are surrounded by owls hooting! We also have a Lesser Horseshoe bat roost in one of our barns and a bat bench so you can watch them leave the roost at dusk.
Woodland
walks
You could not ask for a better location for walking. The 30 mile long West Mendip Way which runs from Uphill near Weston Super Mare and ends in Wells passes Owley woods on the way and links to the Gorge Walks with spectacular views. Mascall’s Wood which is adjacent to the site also has pretty woodland walks with wild garlic and bluebells in the spring adding to the charm.
Fire
pits
All of our Belle tents come with fire pits in their outside seating areas to keep you warm on the cooler evenings. Blankets for your knees and your first basket of logs, firelighters and kindling provided for a cosy evening sat under the stars, (and our night skies are amazing for star spotting!)
Toilets &
showers
Our two heated shower rooms (we call them The Owlet!) has hot showers and flushing toilets. Outside there is a covered area for washing up, bowls, washing up liquid and tea towels all provided. A trip to the Owlet at night can turn into a highlight as the night skies are amazing and you may spot some of the night-wildlife.
On-site
parking
We have a small parking area (with fabulous views) which has one allocated parking space per Belle. Extra parking is available if needed. The Belles are only a few metres from the parking area but we are happy to help carry any bags if you need assistance. Don’t forget your torch as the site can be dark at night. Lots of guests find they don't use their car during their stay as its a lovely walk to the village.
Dog
friendly
We love dogs so all of our Belle Tents welcome up to 4 (depending on size) dogs. They must stay on a lead on site (a long lead is fine) but we do have a dog walking area in the next paddock for those early morning and late night trips. With the footpath running next to the site it really is doggy heaven! Cheddar village is also really dog friendly so that your four legged friend can join you in the caves and visit the local pubs & tea rooms with you. Dog beds are also available if needed.
